What is Beconase nasal spray?
Beconase nasal spray is a treatment for hay fever symptoms, like sneezing, itching, and a blocked or runny nose. If you’re an adult suffering with hay fever and you need a quick and reliable way to ease your symptoms, this could be the perfect solution for you. Beconase spray takes just a few sprays a day to treat and prevent your symptoms, perfect for when the symptoms in your nose are flaring up during the spring and summer months.
Why do I get hay fever symptoms?
Hay fever symptoms happen when you’re allergic to a substance called pollen, which is created by plants and flowers. If you have hay fever, pollen can cause an allergic reaction in your body, making your body create a natural substance called histamine that triggers your hay fever symptoms. These symptoms are designed to help your body to remove the pollen, and some of the most common symptoms include:
- Red, watery eyes
- Itchy nose, eyes, ears, or throat
- Blocked nose
- Sneezing
- Runny nose
- Rashes
How will the beclometasone in Beconase nasal spray relieve my hay fever symptoms?
The active ingredient in Beconase nasal spray is beclometasone dipropionate, which is a type of medication called a corticosteroid. Corticosteroids, or steroids, work by reducing inflammation, so this product will reduce the inflammation in your nose and ease the irritation that causes sneezing and itching. It also helps to reduce swelling that causes a blocked or runny nose, helping you to breathe more easily.
